Our first experience was a Margherita Pizza delivered to our home and upon opening the box the HEAVENLY aroma from this incredible pie had my mouth watering. It was simply to die for! We also tried their salads and entrees as take out meals and were very pleased with the flavors and portions. For dining at the location we sat outside (they allow our dog) and enjoyed pizza and appetizers brought to us by a very attentive and friendly server. Papa Joe's is now our go to for pizza and Italian food whether we choose to go out or stay in! Wonderful all the way around.

First time visit. My Dad loves this place and it was Fathers Day. We went to lunch around 1pm. Was not crowed. Waitress was definitely new but tried so I won't say anything negative on service. I had the Chicken Marcel. It was salty but was a good size portion. Dad had chicken parm and liked it. They had a lunch menu so prices was about $7.00 plate. If you want a side salad it's about $1.95 extra but not worth it. It was a plate of lettuce with two olives, piece of onion, piece of tomato. Pizza looked good so if I ever ended back here that will be my choice

I've only ordered delivery from here, but it's always a great experience. Solid pizza with good quality ingredients. The garlic knots are yummy. Reasonable prices, and sometimes even super-quick delivery (20 minutes!). I may try an entree next time.

This is a neat pizza joint in Lake Mary. My coworker and I came here for lunch and the place was not very busy. The service: we got there around 1pm with the hope that the lunch madness would have ended. The place probably had a total of 2 tables and ours. I ordered 2 cheese slices and my friend had a calzone. The service was pretty slow, the waitress didn't really come to our table to check how we doing. The food: my pizza was really good, it reminded me of NY style pizza. My coworker ate her whole calzone which means it was very good. Honestly for what we paid I'd recommend this place (2 slices and a soda for under $6, you can't really beat that). My only criticism is the slow service but I can't blames the waitress cause it depends on how many orders were ahead of ours in the kitchen. Other than that the place is legit and good.

The eggplant was fantastic. The garlic bread was perfect amount. Service was great. My buddy had the pizza and said it was delicious.

Cheese Bread Sticks are light and flakey. Great flavor. Red sauce was hot and tastes as if it was made today. Pizza was also full of flavor, hot and was very fresh. Great Papa Joes!!

I rarely write bad reviews, and honestly I didn't even get to try the pizza I heard so many great things about because the staff was unbelievably unprofessional. There was a "seat yourself" sign posted and when we tried to, we were immediately told to stop because we didn't ask the absent hostess for a table. Then the hostess made us wait when there were multiple open tables. I'm not even upset about that- I'm upset about the terrible comments that were being made under their breath and the worst attitudes I have ever encountered. I may just be vacationing after a deployment to Afghanistan, but it is safe to say that I will never return to that location when I visit again.

We ordered pizza delivery on Wednesday night . The pizza reminded me of the Brooklyn pizza I used to get growing up in Brooklyn I thought it was excellent Every time I have been to this restaurant I have nothing but praise. The service is good and the food ,especially their eggplant ,is delicious I will be back. This is my favorite Italian place to eat at.

We had a large group of soccer players in town for a tournament and needed a casual pasta place for an evening meal. The place was perfect for our group. Lisa was wonderful and the food was exactly what we needed to carb up for the games. The food was great, service was impeccable. The food was out quickly and accurately which doesn't happen too often with a group of 30 or more. They even provided a discount to our team for eating with them. No one complained about their food. We had garlic knots, pizzas, salads and pastas. We would certainly return next time we are in town. Thanks for the great service and terrific food! See you next year.

I had eggplant. The eggplant was very thinly cut and slightly overbooked. Pizza is decent. Garlic knots are mediocre. Service is acceptable.

What happened? I had eaten here several times in the past and really enjoyed their pizza. It is obvious that they have changed their recipe. The cheese on the pizza wasn't like cheese at all but more doughy, kinda like pizza huts, a very cheap substitute! They charge a lot more than other pizza joints in the area, and the only reason one would spend more is for high quality, and it's not happening (anymore!) so dissapointed!!

Great pizza. My husband considered this to rival NY style pizzas. Garlic knots were great. Great service. The kids loved it. Would definitely come back next time in town.

Never having had Papa Joe's Pizza, and after they won best of Seminole County Best Pizza for several years running, I decided to see what made it so good by visiting the Colonial Townpark location in Lake Mary. Unfortunately I have to report that either a lot has changed since last year's poll, or those that voted this the best pizza really have no taste buds at all. I went for lunch on a Saturday afternoon a little after 12 noon, and was one of only three diners in the whole place; this was still true 20 minutes later when I left. Service was quick, attentive and more than competent. I ordered two slices of cheese pizza and a soda, which came to $5.75. The slices, which were good sized, arrived in good time and were sufficiently hot, but not too hot to eat right away, which was good. What wasn't good was that the plate they were served on had a large chip missing out of the edge, about 2/3 the size of a dime, on top and easily seen. I have no idea why they let this plate be used for my order; inattention? The crust has an excellent medium brown color on the edge and bottom, was crisp and had some decent, bready flavor to it. Nothing fabulous but OK. The pizza had been cooked long enough for the cheese to bubble, which is correct; not just melted, uncooked cheese, but cooked properly. The biggest disappointment was the sauce. It was entirely BLAND with no flavor at all, not even the flavor of tomatos. I've made pizza professionally myself and I have no clue how you take all of the flavor out of a tomato, even a canned one! I had a good ten bites from the first slice with plenty of chewing to make sure I was tasting (or NOT tasting, as the case may be) what was there. Nothing there for flavor at all in the sauce. I even had a hard time seeing any green flecks of herbage anywhere, and believe me, I looked. I then tried some salt, no help. Some pepper, a little better. Some pepper and garlic powder, a bit better, but the blandness of the sauce just woudn't go away. It was so bland that halfway through my second slice, the blandness started to become a flavor of it's own, in an artifical, plastic sort of way. Terribly disappointing. I doubt I will be going back to try Papa Joe's again soon. Unless someone I REALLY trust tells me that the sauce has been vastly improved. Otherwise it's just a waste of money and eating effort, and an insult to the fine tradition of pizza. C'mon Papa Joe, don't do our good name wrong with bland food, I know you can do better than this; your previous awards would seem to prove that, or does it???

Slightly better than mediocre pizza. Entrees are are not good quality italian food. Do not recommend delivery.

Had a great experience at this spot. Our server was incredible. We started off with garlic knots, they tasted like they were fresh out of the oven. Pizza was GREAT. I would def recommend this place. Right next to the movie theatre which was very convenient.

Got in town late and needed a place to eat after a quick workout. The Yelp reviews seemed positive so I gave it a shot. It was close to 9 o'clock but they were still open which was a relief because I was hungry. I ordered the Pasta Carbonara and added some grilled chicken. It came with salad and garlic bread on the side and was ready in just about 10 minutes. I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the take out box and saw the huge portion. The carbonara tasted great, with crisp peas and bacon. The grilled chicken portion was generous as well. The staff was friendly and welcoming. I would definitely go back.

  • Cherry S.

Don't! We ordered a thin crust with 1/2 extra pepperoni, mushrooms & onion. We were told it would be 20 minutes. After waiting over 30 minutes (not sure his they cook when the oven doors are constantly opened and closed!), the pepperoni was on the entire pizza. After requesting a new pizza, the way we ordered it, there was barely any pepperoni on the pizza, the crust was barely cooked and overall very little flavor. Combine that with the rude woman who cuts & serves the pizza - choose better!!

Yes. It's been a long time since my last review. Almost 2 years. But much has happened ... 'nuff said. It's unfortunate that my experience at this joint was the experience that brought me back to Yelp but when I have something to say I just need to say it. I and my wife and 5 year old son went to see Shaun the Sheep today. Which was great and another review is coming regarding the moving theater (which was very nice btw) and we marked that it would be a perfect stop to have a slice of pizza after the movie. So we did. We chose to eat inside because, well, it's Florida and the inside was more predictable. We were seated quickly -not very busy on a Sunday afternoon. And the waitress was quick with the menus. She took our drink orders and seemed a bit curt to me (and yes, my warning sense went off) when all I asked for was water. As a manager of too many restaurants to count I know that this can be a warning to servers that we aren't big spenders. It's a Sunday. All we wanted was slices of pizza. So, no I'm not going to lay out 25 dollars for a bottle of wine. But I do know how to tip (I start at 20%). What did she expect? When she came back to take our order -a slice of pepperoni for my son, a slice of anchovy for me and a cheese calzone for my wife she remarked "that's an easy order." Our eyes met and I knew what she meant -"cheap". After much longer than it should take she brought the slices. Pepperoni for my son and a slice of cheese for me. Cheese. I looked at it and said, "anchovy?" She paused and said, "oh yeah. I'll have him fix that" and picked up my plate. With a smile, I said, "I thought that was an easy order." I think she agreed with me but she didn't apologize. Which irked me more than anything else. That 20% that I started with? It was now a tenuous 15% because she didn't even bother to check the order before bringing it out. Then, after my wife returned from her bathroom the calzone arrived. So, my son and wife ate while I sat -again much longer than I should have for just a slice. When it finally arrived she gave me a little thing of "extra anchovy" attempting to get herself back into good graces, but if anybody knows anything about pizza places and anchovies it's hard enough to use them all up to begin with, so making it seem like she was doing me a favor was ... embarrassing. And the "New York" style pizza was NOT New York. The dough was old and the crust broke like a burnt egg shell. New York pizza crust may be crunchy but it doesn't shatter. The calzone was tasteless and the pizza was ... an abomination. How do I know? My wife, who loves cheese and is Italian, didn't eat more than a quarter of her calzone and my son didn't finish half of his. HE'S FIVE! What five year old DOESN'T EAT PEPPERONI?! He makes better pizza at home when it's his turn to cook! And I've made enough pizza's in my time to recognize an amateur in the kitchen when I taste their attempt. That 15? Was now an easy 10%. I'd had enough and we weren't going to be eating anything else so when she brought the check (the only time we saw her after she left the food -didn't bother to check to make sure everything was okay) I asked for a take out. When she came back SHE put the food in the box. I can't say that she didn't use her hands because I wasn't watching -servers don't put the foods in the boxes. That's for the customers to do -unless it's a high-end white linen place. At that point 5% was generous. And the take out box? Didn't even have parchment paper in the bottom so the box got soggy. So, yes it was Sunday. But my philosophy is if the place isn't good on one of the slowest days of the week, it's not worth trying any other time.

I been to Papa Joe's many times. I own a Town Car Sedan business and when ever I go to the Sanford area to visit a friend and go out to movies at Amstar we make sure we go out to Papa Joe's which is right next to the theater. The food is very good and the service is good also. I highly recommend this place. When my friend and I go out to the movies we decide where to eat and we end up at Papa Joe's. I will return again.

Few pizzas can compare to the classic cheese and pepperoni pizzas at Papa Joes! This thin crust pizza had great flavor from the melty cheese to the semi-crunchy crust. The service was pretty good, took about 15 mins for the pizza to come out, and it came out piping hot. If you are looking for the best pizza place around, on a strictly taste basis, Papa Joes is it!

  • Tamara B.

The food was good but the waitress seemed to be very new and very new to the business of waitressing as well. It took forever to take our order because she fully wrote everything out. Have never seen that done in waitressing. Food came out at separate times so everyone was eating at different times. Order was incorrect in the sense of bringing more food than what we ordered...but she didn't charge us for it and we were able to take it home when we weren't able to eat it all. Cute location and you can get pizza by the slice. Overall OK place.

Pretty disappointed with our experience tonight. I've ordered from here several times, but ALWAYS pizza. For the first time, we ordered Spaghetti and Meatballs, and Chicken Parmesan. Wow. Both dishes were absolutely awful. The sauce was basically crushed tomato thrown on top of pasta. The meatballs had NO flavor.. Super bland. and the chicken was mediocre at best. Although the pizza from this place is pretty good, I will not order from here again, since the rest of the food is terrible. So upsetting. I wish I could get a refund, since we didn't even eat it.

My friend strongly recommended this place's pizza, I was concerned about their low ratings but trusted my friend's feedback and ordered. Wow, their cheese was amazing!!!! Loved the pizza. Definitely a 5 star pizza.

  • Nishant G.

It's OK pizza. It claims to be Italian authentic, but HA! I've been to Italy. NOTHING in Florida is authentic Italian. Still, I commend them on trying. Friendly, quick service, accompanied by a decent establishment in a great area. I think it's over-priced though. I can find better pizza for cheaper. If you happen to be in this area and you're hungry for pizza, sure, eat here. But if you're looking for pizza, find something else.
